Marié’s paternal grandfather was Matthew J. Digby (the son of Matthew Digby and Ann “Annie” Reilly). Marié’s grandfather Matthew was born in New York. Marié’s great-grandfather Matthew was a Northern Irish emigrant, from Armagh, County Armagh, and was the son of Daniel Digby and Margaret Hughes. Ann was an Irish emigrant, from Drummuck, County Cavan, and was the daughter of John Reilly and Susan Smith.

Marié’s paternal grandmother was Irene Belle Kennedy (the daughter of Benjamin Harrison “Ben” Kennedy and Mary Ellen McKenna). Irene was born in Washington. Benjamin was the son of Robert Porter Kennedy and Margaret Willie Jackson. Mary Ellen was the daughter of Irish immigrant Thomas McKenna, and of Rosa Murtha, whose parents were Irish immigrants.
