But when it comes to roadblocks, and those fundamental values and again, getting through things together, I just don’t think we were on the same page — and it’s painful to admit that.”

They initially announced their split in a joint statement that began: “After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends.”

However, they admitted that they wanted different things in life. “We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways,” the statement continued.

A diamond is just a diamond to Kaitlyn who admitted, “I’d rather keep the dog than the ring.” This was in reference to the couple’s Golden Retriever, Tucker, who resides with Shawn.

Greener Pastures
She’s much happier now! Kaitlyn has moved on with fellow franchise alum Jason Tartick. The two started their romance this past December and haven’t looked back.

“No, I wasn’t with Shawn,” Kaitlyn explained about the timing of meeting her new beau. “Shawn and I were broken up but not to the public … but, we were.”

That’s not to say he puts his lady love on a pedastal. When asked if he calls her out on “bulls–t,” Kaitlyn explained his one pet peeve. “He hates when I clap back at trolls … I love a good clapback. I live for it,” she said. Fair enough!
