John Levén is a Swedish musician. He is the bassist of rock band Europe. Other members of the group include/have included Ian Haugland, Marcel Jacob, Kee Marcello, Mic Michaeli, John Norum, Peter Olsson, Tony Reno, and Joey Tempest.

John is the son of Britten and Evert Gunnar Levén. He has three children.

John’s paternal grandfather was Evert Ivar Natanael Levén (the son of Johan Emil Gustafsson Levén and Hedvig Fristedt). Evert was born in Ekeby, Östergötland. Johan was the son of Gustaf Wilhelm Johansson and Anna Charlotta Gustafsdotter. Hedvig was the daughter of Johan August Fristedt and Hedda Mathilda Carlsdotter Björk.

John’s paternal grandmother was Märta Helena Viktoria Svärd (the daughter of Carl Johan Svärd and Carolina Julin). Märta was born in Norra Vi, Östergötland. Carl was the son of Adolph (later Adolf) Svärd and Hedvig Sophia (later Hedda Sofia) Carlsdotter. Carolina was the daughter of Erik Johan Johansson Julin and Inga Lena Jonsdotter.

John’s maternal grandfather was Bo Samuel Karlsson (the son of Carl Johan Carlsson, later Karl Johan Karlsson, and of Hilma Vilhelmina Carlsson, later Karlsson). Bo was born in Spånga (now part of Stockholm). John’s great-grandfather Carl was the son of Carl August Carlsson and Emma Charlotta Carlsdotter. Hilma was the daughter of Carl August Carlsson and Augusta Wilhelmina Andersson.

John’s maternal grandmother was Anna Olivia Boberg (the daughter of Carl Oscar, later Karl Oskar, Nilsson Boberg and Sara Olivia Olsson). Anna was born in Grängesberg, Dalarna. Karl was the son of Nils Nilsson and Maja Cajsa Jacobsdotter. Sara was the daughter of Adolph (later Adolf) Olsson and Anna Sophia (later Sofia) Mörk.
