John Forysthe was an American actor, producer, narrator, drama teacher, and philanthropist.

His father, Samuel Jeremiah Freund, was born in New York, to Polish Jewish parents. His mother, Blanche Materson (Blohm), was born in Pennsylvania, of Russian Jewish and German Jewish descent.

John was married to Julie Wagner Warren, until her death, and then to Nicole Carter, until his death. He had a son with his first wife, actress Parker Worthington McCormick, and two children with Julie.

John’s maternal grandfather was named David Hyat Blohm. David was a Russian Jewish immigrant.

John’s maternal grandmother was Mary/May S. Materson (the daughter of Hillel Meterson and Feige/Fanny Levy). Mary was born in Maryland, to German Jewish parents, from Prussia. Hillel was the son of Altschul Meterson.
