Mauro Emanuel Icardi is an Argentinian professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Argentina national team. Icardi started his footballing career at La Masia, the youth system of La Liga club Barcelona, before joining Serie A club Sampdoria to begin his professional career in 2012; After an impressive season, he joined Inter Milan in July 2013 where he became one of the most successful strikers in Europe. Icardi won the Capocannoniere in the 2014-15 and 2017-18 seasons, and was elected Inter captain in 2015, at the age of 22. Three years later, Icardi was an integral part of Inter's pursuit of a UEFA Champions League stop, for the first time in six years, as he became the club's eighth all-time top scorer. In 2019, Icardi signed his first one-year loan deal to Paris Saint-Germain, where he won the domestic treble. After that, he joined the club permanently with a contract worth 50 million euros.
