Ari Aster is an American filmmaker. He has written and directed the films Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid.
His father is a musician and his mother, Bobbi Lurie, is a poet and visual artist. He briefly lived in England, while his father opened a jazz club there, in Chester. When he was ten, the family moved back to the U.S., settling in New Mexico.
